Maiden Elephant painting
195cm X 130cm
The first Elephant painting depicts the characteristics of a Maiden. This is the stage I believe that paths the way into womanhood. When a young women starts a menstrual cycle, and levels of the female hormone, estrogen start to rise at a consistent rate and she is in tune with her own bodily function. Feminine qualities are biologically driven. When females can sense their body and what their internal organs are telling them, an instinctive connection to our feelings, emotional thoughts connected to our physical organs within our body is what entails this idea of the Maiden stage. An intuitive discovery route, A Maiden represents charm, curiosity, inception, expansion, and the female principle in a promise of new beginnings, youth, excitement, and a carefree erotic aura. This stage serves as the beginning female principle and stage of life before giving birth. From mythological studies of the triple goddess symbol, this stage offers the promise of new beginnings, and a radiant sensual glow. The elephant is painted in bright, exciting colors, contrasting to the environment around it. Standing tall on its hind legs in means of exploration and breakthrough, it is a power driven experience, the elephant’s trunk explodes into a fruitful tree filled of beginning and wonder. Beginning stages of empowerment for the animal, and seeking toward the world around her, she rallies through a fast, unfamiliar African forest.
